“The Social Network” a.k.a. “The Facebook Movie”
So allot of us are probably seeing the hype today about the upcoming movie “The Social Network” the Facebook story. Let me first say that even though I check Facebook about 30 times a day I still somewhat dislike the company. Not so much because of how the site works but more because of the origins of the company. We all probably know the story about how facebook got started and how Zuckerberg “borrowed” the idea from ConnectU. (here is a good timeline of events on the origin of facebook and ConnectU. http://bit.ly/9MWEWF ) I see myself as an entrepreneur and hope one day to start my own web company. So seeing where I come from the whole Facebook past rubs me the wrong way.

Despite all this the new trailer looks promising, and looks like it might tell the true story about how Facebook was started. At first I didn’t want to watch this movie because I thought it was going to make Zuckerberg look like a god and not mention the shady past of facebook. But overall it looks like a decent movie, and might tell the real history of Facebook. I guess we will have to wait for it to hit theaters to see if it tells the true story.
Maybe to honor the true origins of Facebook we should “borrow” the movie from torrent sites!

Android=World Smart Phone Domination
So we all know that Apple iPhones are the cool kid smart phone on the block right now. The phone design, UI, and app store are what formed the current smart phone scene. But seeing the current growth of the Android platform things are about to change. I’m not going to quote exact industry percentages but simply try to prove a point. I’m an apple fan boy (iPhone 3G S, Macbook) but I can see Android taking over the smart phone world. Its only a matter of time. If my dad has a Droid Eris soon the whole world will have an Android device.

* 10hr Battery Life, a month of standby
* Ability to use existing apps from the app store.
* iTunes integration for music and video
* iBook app store
* Re-designed Mail, Calender, Contacts, iPhoto, and iLife apps
* Youtube
* 3g and Wifi
* Keyboard dock, desk dock, and iPad Case
* Bluetooth keyboard connectivity
* Camera Connection Kit
Bad:
* No camera
* 3g vs. Wifi pricing
* AT&T
* So far no external video output
* iPhone/iPad OS
